The Monumental Earthworks of Poverty Point is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in northeastern Louisiana in West Carroll Parish, alongside Bayou Macon.  Hunter-gatherers developed the site over 3,000 years ago for residential and ceremonial purposes. It consists of six concentric semi-circular ridges, a central plaza, and multiple mounds.  (32.637303° N, -91.409062° W)

The Marksville State Historic Site is located in central Louisiana in Avoyelles Parish, alongside Old River. The site, which features a large semi-circular earthen embankment and conical mounds, was built about 2000 years ago.  (31.125141° N,  -92.050033° W)

The Balmoral Mounds are located in rural Tensas Parish. The site includes three mounds that together form an equilateral triangle. The site is approximately 3000 years old. (32.131944° N, -91.240638° W)
